Yeah Bella, its Larp :), and I didn't cut my hair beacuse I wanted to. I loved them more than any other self expression I have. I had to choose between losing my job and being stuck in a very small country town with no job trying to support me and Holly or cut my locks. I took the dispute as high as I could go in the industrial relations court but in the end was told I had to cut them.... Sad times. I miss my hairs SO MUCH! They were a part of me.

Oww, that's so horrible... :S Just as if locs can't be clean and such. I understand why you did it, I would probably -with pain in my heart- do the same... tough I also think they shouldn't even ask you that. I mean, if it's part of who you are...! Then they just made you violate yourself in order to keep your job. I might be a naive, young, kid, but I just think that's plain mean. I hope I will never be facing that decision, but somehow I'm afraid I will...

But didn't you have locs when you got the job? And why didn't they do this earlier then? (since dreads in the beginning look a lot worse than your mature beauties did!) And if you already had dreads, why did they employ you in the first place...??
But whatever happens, I hope that in the future you can start another set ;) it's never too late!
Just so awful, how society can force us to do things sometimes... :/

Anyway, I still like your dreadstache avatar!
A miracle you still had the humour to do that by then... ;)

Bella, basically every single person who's heard about his hair has had the same reaction as you, to lesser or greater degrees. It's not just you being "naive or young" haha. I think you're actually quite wise for your age :)

And noof's had several other sets of dreads, (2 or 3? I can never remember), and his employers have made him cut them all off also. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I'll let noof answer the rest. And I think it's a miracle he had the humour to do the dreadstache too!

Thanks for the understanding and support Bella! It does help mollify the disappointment a little, but yeah, the next set will be righteous, have no fear :)
Holly, you are the best partner ever <3

Yea, I really hope you one day get the chance to get a new set! ;)
Your hair and head are simply MADE for dreads!

Have you kept them, if I may ask? (since I would, especially when they mean so much to you)

Oh yes! I have plans (chuckles wickedly). When my hair gets long enough to braid again in a year or so, I'll section my hair and braid it. After a while the hair coming out of my head will dread in sections and I can undo the remaining braided hair and 'sew' back my old set of locks! Voila! I have my locks back :)

Yeah..stick it out...we all get there. Cheers. I guess the slow evolution is good looking back, but you do sometimes think..."hurry up already hair..come ...on!" Be worth the wait!
