Yeah, that's something we have to put up with. It's not so bad lately but for most of the 8 years I've had dreadlocks I'd get abuse shouted out of cars, passers-by etc. It's stopped so much recently though it still happens on the odd occasion.

In fact last night I walked past some chavs who started asking the usual "How did you get your hair like that?" (a question I hate because it' impossible to answer accurately whilst walking past someone) and then as I was walking away one of them shouted "It looks very pretty" which was a surprise!

Also, dreads look great on you! I think dreadlocks are an acquired taste, but the best things in life are.

I honestly am shocked that someone would run their mouth off with that bullshit. He's the frickin one that needs to come up to speed in the fact that it's 2011. Hippie thing was gone in the 90's whatever you douch bag. He'd probably shit a brick if he saw me. I have a wide variety of clothing some would be called hippish and a lot of it is not. I have cowboy boots am I not suppose to wear them now because I have dreads? Sorry you had to experience that!! I would have been tempted to stop his rant and tell him to keep his opinions to himself. Guess there's the good and the bad way people speak about dreads. You look beautiful in yours hold your head high!!
