I have a dread I could do that to... if I were able to track down a suitable piece of jewellery.

I also saw someone who put one of those flesh tunnels in her dreads, like people usually put in their ears and such.
It looked really nice :) A good way to fill up a hole!
I'm so happy I don't have any nasty holes yet, but this would be a nice way to fill it, tough I really wonder how well secured that eye thing is... looks as if it can pop out anytime, but it might be a lot stronger than it looks...

As its a plug it could have quite a deep flare on it, this is what would also keep it from falling out of your ear and may be why it stays put in his dread.

Ooo, so many beautiful beads and decorations, guys!

I wanted to show you all these dread-things that I made. They probably could have been nicer, but I made them on a whim, about 30 minutes before I had to be at work.

The beads are from a necklace my sister have me. They are Masai style beads carved from bone to look like a lion tooth. It is kind of weird having dead animal parts in my hair, but I think they are pretty.

Oh, I love that spiral coil, Lilly!

I never thought of putting a flesh tunnel in my dreads, but I love it! I tried filling a hole by tying in a 25 peseta coin once. It didn't work too well. :(

A few of my things are this coil that I made:

A wrap from a salvaged friendship bracelet and some seed beads:

A glass bead my mom made for me back when I had my first set that lasted like a month:

Another one of Mom's beads:

And a question - I've finally convinced my mom to start making dread beads to sell at the farmer's market. Is 1/2" (12mm) a good size? That's too big for me but I think my dreads tend to run on the small side.

The only thing with coils is that they tend to get stuck in my dreads. I wore one once, for three days I think, and in the end like four dreads were stuck to it and it was covered a bit in hair... :/ all the pulling I had to do to get them out really didn't make me very happy :(

And I love the lions tooth bone, Hava! :)
I have a spine fragment of a rabbit myself which would fit my hair perfectly, only it's unprocessed and all... and that makes it kinda gross. So I decided not to wear it, it would look nice tho :P
