Ok I've had a bit of an idea that could earn me some money, however I'm not sure whether people would be interested or not so I thought I'd post on here to get people's opinions.

Basically a good friend of mine gets some very expensive real-hair extensions put in her hair. A few weeks ago she was gonna get new ones and had to remove the old ones. As she took them out I realised I could easily dread some of them and stick them in with mine. Then I decided I didnt particularly want to do that as it would look a bit weird with my dreads, (mine are black, these are blonde, and I have quite enough dreads on my head as it is..)

Then I remembered how people like to buy dread extensions and actually pay good money for them and thought if I dreaded them up nicely I could sell them on ebay or something and make some much needed money.

Now I don't know if this is a viable idea, maybe you will think its pretty cool, maybe you will totally hate it and think it makes a mockery of the entire dreading thing. I honestly don't know, this is why I have posted on here, to gather some opinions. So let me know what you think, its all welcome, do I have a lucrative business on my hands? or is it a waste of time that no one will be interested in?

i think it's a good idea, been tossing it around in my own head for a while now. get there! and you can always dye the hair extensions if you want them to match your own!

I'd buy them. (not now, but I would)
I've seen real dreads on ebay, that got bought up pretty quick. If someone ever chops their dreads and needs money, I suggest ebaying them.

I'd use em in art projects most likely :p

Well, the human hair itself isn't cheap. I would suggest to call a salon that does extensions as a potential customer and see what you can derive from that conversation.

I have extended a few of my dreads. I brought some real hair extensions, dreaded them and added them to the 4 bottom ones. The reason being, when I first got them, I did them 4 first, and being a twat, cut them off to start again. This meant they where always a lot shorter than the rest, causing me to look like a mushroom :) I am so glad I extended them, it makes me love my dreads even more. There is a good market for them and people with lickle dreads can have instant long dreads! You can always cut them off eventually :)

Oh, and they only cost £2.50 each, and I got two out of them easily! You could charge a fiver! £2.50 for the hair £2.50 for the effort to dread it :D

I made a wee dread out my hair ages ago... I used to end up with lots of loose stuff after brushing my hair in the shower... So I'd make wee dreads, I've kept this one... THinkin bout attaching it somewhere.. .But how do you do it?
