composting

Does anyone here practice the art of composting?
I have a pile that is going on almost a year now!

We have a compost pile, it isn't that old though. Probably 4, 5 months maybe. It's getting some size though, so I'm happy with it.

I compost also. Now it's just about time for our spring thaw and all the food waste that has gone into our compost for the last six months, that froze as soon as we dumped in the pile, will thaw and begin to rot and compost. It is usually pretty ripe for the next month so goos thing it is well away from the house.

yup, we compost :)
not very actively... we dump shit in a big pile and leave it, no turning or anything.

I don't really consider what I do to be an "art" but yeah, we do it. Friday dh and I got out there and tilled up the ground a bit and mixed things up, as I was kind of tired of looking at the pile.

We are a big family and I hate waste, we just turn our leftovers into something useful :-D
